The Boeing Company Associate Systems Engineer (Operations / Systems Analysis) in Berkeley, Missouri
The Boeing Phantom Works Virtual Warfare Center is seeking an Associate Systems Engineer to join its Operations Analysis team. This position is located in Berkeley, Missouri. In this role, you will work with stakeholders and customers to answer 'how' and 'why' questions through constructive simulation and virtual experimentation using systems modeling, simulations, applied statistics, and informed engineering judgment. This position will support Multi-Domain Operations studies designed to assess current and future military capabilities by leveraging contributions from systems that traditionally operate in one war-fighting domain such as land, sea, and space. The position requires working across multiple disciplines and a diverse organization of analysts, software developers, and business units to execute analysis using integrated software tools, simulations and data from multiple sources. Position Responsibilities: Directly interfacing and collaborating with internal business units. Understanding customer operational needs. Deriving and evaluating system and subsystem design requirements to ensure operational requirements are affordable. Describing system operational capabilities in support of sales and marketing activities. May support quantifying cost and effectiveness impacts for alternative systems and designs. Assessing the operational benefit of system improvements and upgrades. This position requires an active Secret U.S. Security Clearance. (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active.) Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience): Bachelor's, Master's or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry Experience in exercising system level analysis Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience): Experience conducting constructive analysis of military weapon systems to determine system effectiveness and capability gaps Experience applying standard government analysis tools for analysis of complex military problems including weapons Experience conducting analysis of military technologies, systems, and operations within the space, air, land, sea, and cyber domains Ability to independently solve problems that don’t have prescribed procedures or methodologies Project management experience including understanding of risks, issues, and opportunities Communication skills including the ability to create and deliver technical presentations to diverse audiences including Boeing and customer decision-makers Two years of experience working across multi-disciplinary teams Typical Education/Experience: Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 2 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. Master). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard. Relocation: Relocation assistance is not a negotiable benefit for this position.
