Boeing is seeking Aviation Maintenance Technician and Inspectors who hold an active Secret or higher security clearance to perform production installations, maintenance, preventative maintenance, alterations and quality assurance on aircraft structure, systems and sub-systems, including electrical and avionics on standard or experimental certificated aircraft. Position Responsibilities: Troubleshoot, inspect, test, repair, service aircraft and engine systems to prepare aircraft for flight. Perform Quality functions such as Customer/FAA Coordination, Configuration Change Verification, Conformity Inspections, Airworthiness Inspections (including Pre-flight and Post-flights), Corrective Action and Investigations. Initiate and document any nonconforming materials, hardware, software, tools, parts, assemblies, or portions thereof, according to specifications, processes, and procedures. Perform Aviation Maintenance Technician Inspector tasks in order to obtain and maintain knowledge, skills and required certifications. Perform audit/surveillance of all manufacturing and quality assurance processes, according to specifications, processes, and procedures. Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience): This position requires an active U.S. Security Clearance (at least Secret). A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active. This position requires an individual when working at heights to utilize fall protection equipment that has weight limitations. Must be able to work any shift, overtime and holidays as required. "This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. "US Person" includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee." Preferred Qualifications Valid FAA Airframe and Powerplant Certificate preferred. Please note your certificate number on your resume if you are certified. Typical Education/Experience High school graduate or GED preferred. A minimum of five years of aircraft maintenance experience on complex jet powered aircraft with military, airline or certificated repair station background preferred. Other Relevant Information: If you are being hired or transferring into a position where you will perform a Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) safety-sensitive function, you are first required to undergo Pre-Employment drug testing for the presence of marijuana, cocaine, opiates, phencyclidine (PCP), and amphetamines, or a metabolite of those drugs. Will be subject to mandated drug and alcohol testing with random checks. This is an hourly position governed by the IAM Collective Bargaining agreement. Current Boeing employees working in Puget Sound and Portland must submit an Employee Request Transfer (ERT) to be considered in the eligible candidate pool. This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility.
