At Boeing, we are all innovators on a mission to connect, protect, explore and inspire. From the seabed to outer space, you’ll learn and grow, contributing to work that shapes the world. Find your future with us. This Associate Structural Analysis Engineer (Level 2) position will report to the SLS Loads and Dynamics manager in Huntsville, AL, which is part of Boeing's Flight Capabilities team. The Space Launch System (SLS) program (primary program supported), in conjunction with NASA, is developing the nation's capability in manned access to space, including destinations beyond Earth orbit. This position performs loads development, integration, and documentation of advanced structural analysis across multiple Boeing Development Systems (BDS) programs, including the SLS Program, GBSD, and Commercial Crew. Position Responsibilities: Coordinates with other engineering groups both within Boeing and with the government customer to establish system environments. Loads analyses includes simulations of both ground and flight events to which the aerospace vehicle is exposed, and the development of internal loads on secondary structures or components associated with these mission events. Loads analysis includes simulations using NASTRAN of all ground and flight events to which the vehicle is exposed, and the development of internal loads on secondary structures or components associated with these flight events. Examples include liftoff, ascent (gust/buffet response), and base-drive analysis using NASTRAN, etc. Demonstrated experience with Craig-Bampton (CB) reductions in aerospace applications, launch vehicle applications are a plus. Demonstrated experience creating Load Transformation Matrices (LTM) for aerospace applications is a plus. Responsibilities also include performance of loads and dynamics analysis to assure compliance with structural integrity and stability requirements with direction from the Technical Lead. This positon requires the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship.
