The Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) organization is seeking an  Electronic Design Engineer (Level 3) to join the Missile & Weapon Systems  team in Huntsville , AL . on the Patriot Advanced Capability (PAC-3) missile-defense program. The PAC-3 missile seeker is a complex, radar-based electro-mechanical assembly. Boeing Huntsville has multi-year contracts to develop, manufacture, and test the Patriot Advanced Capability-3 (PAC-3) missile seeker and future improvements. These contracts are driving significant, long-term growth for the PAC-3 engineering team on the Huntsville, AL campus. As an Electronic Design Engineer , you will support efforts related to electronic circuits and functionality implemented via Field Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGAs) in the PAC-3 missile seeker. Your work could include design, analysis, specification, integration, and test of these FPGAs. The Missile & Weapon Systems organization is dynamic and growing with a leadership team focused on attracting and developing top talent in support of critical missions for National Defense and Strategic Deterrence. Position Responsibilities Duties will include (but are not limited to): Analyzes customer and system requirements to develop basic architectural approaches and detailed specifications for various electronic products Develops high-level and detailed designs consistent with requirements and specifications Validates designs through various methods of review, testing and analysis. Identifies, tracks and statuses technical performance measures to measure progress and ensure compliance with requirements Supports Supplier Management with make / buy recommendations and other technical services of limited scope Provides engineering support throughout the lifecycle of the product Investigates emerging technologies to develop concepts for future product designs to meet projected requirements Works under general direction Basic Qualifications ( Required Skills / Experience ):  This position requires an active Secret U.S. Security Clearance. (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active.) Bachelors of Science degree or higher in Electrical Engineering or related STEM field FPGA design, analysis, integration & test experience Experience implementing electronic firmware designs in custom or programmable electronic devices Preferred Qualifications ( Desired Skills / Experience ): Missile defense system experience preferred but not required Experience with firmware technologies, design / debug tools, and processes such as ASICs, FPGAs, VHDL, ATPG and / or Verilog Experience with hardware and software integration testing Typical Education / Experience : Education / experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard. Relocation : This position is located in Huntsville , AL and offers relocation based on candidate eligibility. Candidates must live in the immediate Huntsville area or be willing to relocate for this opportunity. NOTE: Basic relocation  plan is being offered for internal candidates.
