The Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) organization is seeking a Senior Electronic Design & Analysis Engineer (Level 5) for the Design Engineering team in Huntsville , AL on the Patriot Advanced Capability (PAC-3) missile-defense program . Boeing Huntsville has multi-year contracts to develop, manufacture, and test the Patriot Advanced Capability-3 (PAC-3) missile seeker and future improvements. The PAC-3 Seeker is a complex, radar-based electro-mechanical assembly. These contracts are driving significant, long-term growth for the PAC-3 engineering team on the Huntsville, AL campus. This Senior Electronic Design & Analysis Engineer will be responsible for developing concepts, architecture, and detailed electronic designs for hardware and firmware on a new PAC-3 Seeker upgrade program. Position Responsibilities Duties will include (but are not limited to): Resolves complex issues on critical programs related to architectural approaches, requirements, specifications and design Leads technical aspect of proposal preparation Identifies critical performance measures and develops processes for computing them Leads activities in support of Supplier Management with make / buy recommendations and other technical services Coordinates engineering support throughout the lifecycle of the product Develops new concepts for future product designs to meet projected requirements Recommends and manages technology insertion Works under consultative direction Basic Qualifications ( Required Skills / Experience ): This position requires an active Secret U.S. Security Clearance. (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active.) Bachelors of Science degree or higher in an engineering classification Preferred Qualifications ( Desired Skills / Experience ): 12+ years of engineering experience Missile defense systems experience Root cause and corrective action resolution skills experience Technical leadership experience Experience in one or more of these fields: Design for manufacturability Test and verification of electronic hardware and assemblies Electronic system performance analysis and/or trade studies Electromagnetic radiation, impacts, interference, and compatibility DC power supply circuitry Controls Circuit board design Radar / RF hardware Digital signal processing FPGA development Knowledge of detailed electronic circuitry (digital and/or analog) Typical Education / Experience : Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 14 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+9 years' related work experience, Master+12 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard. Relocation : This position is located in Huntsville , AL and offers relocation based on candidate eligibility. Candidates must live in the immediate Huntsville area or be willing to relocate for this opportunity. NOTE: Basic relocation plan is being offered for internal candidates.
