Find your future with us. The Boeing Defense, Space and Security, Phantom Works division is seeking a Technical Designer (Level 1) to provide support for our Advanced Vertical Lift team. Our mission is to create differentiated capabilities and services by relentlessly pursuing innovation in design, thinking and execution. Boeing employs approximately 5,000 people in Ridley Park, PA where the CH-47 and V22 are manufactured. The plant is situated along the Delaware River approximately 10 miles southwest of Philadelphia, and 2 miles from the International airport. Position Responsibilities: Develops and maintains engineering product definition by preparing design layouts, modifying existing designs and resolving design discrepancies to satisfy customer and production requirements. Coordinates engineering product definition with internal/external parties. Verifies engineering data by ensuring compliance to standards and integration of parts, instructions and tools. Investigates manufacturing processes or other engineering related issues. Defines or revises fundamental engineering product definition. Verifies accuracy of engineering data. Gathers relevant data for root cause analysis. Produces changes to resolve discrepancies in design packages. Works under close supervision This position requires the ability to obtain U.S. Security Clearance, for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience) Experience multi-tasking and working in a team environment. Experience demonstrating excellent verbal and written communication skills and customer focus. Experience working in a cross-functional teaming environment. Experience working with or knowledge of CAD/CAM software tools. Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience) Experience working with or knowledge of CATIA V5. Experience working with or knowledge of creating structural/mechanical designs. Experience with tool design, tool fabrication and/or production fabrication. Experience demonstrating analytical and communication skills Typical Education / Experience: Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Associate) or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. 2 years' related work experience).
