The Boeing Company Fire Fighter in Ridley Park, Pennsylvania

Boeing 's corporate division is currently in search of a Firefighter in support of operations in Ridley Park, PA.

Responsibilities:

Responds to and completes service requests as outlined in company procedures or desktop procedures.

Inspects various routine, emergency and fixed fire protection equipment, systems and apparatus to ensure operational readiness and to comply with applicable codes, standards and company procedures and completes appropriate documentation.

Responds to emergency calls for assistance to mitigate hazardous situations by operating specialized tools, equipment and apparatus.

Determines the appropriate course of action within the scope of qualifications. Completes appropriate documentation.

Conducts training for external customers in emergency preparedness and safety skills to meet regulatory requirements and satisfy customer requests.

Completes appropriate documentation. Monitors systems and receives requests for fire department services.

Completes building inspections; hot work control; fire protection systems configuration control; responding to and controlling all emergencies, including those involving ARFF, structures, equipment and vehicle fires, medical, hazardous material, and confined space rescue.

The ability to interface with government agencies; local, state and federal Fire Department; security and fire protection management; other company management and customer; vendors and suppliers.

This position requires the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship.

Basic Qualifications : 

Firefighter I & II - IFSAC or PRO-Board Certification

National Registry EMT certification, Pennsylvania EMT, or have the ability to obtain Pennsylvania EMT within the first 90 days

Three (3) years full time career firefighting experience or five-year resident/paid part-time/volunteer firefighting experience

Must possess a valid driver’s license

High school graduate or GED

This position requires you work a 24 hour alternate shift. (You will work one 24 hour shift then off for 48 hours)

Preferred Qualifications:

Aircraft Rescue Firefighting (ARFF) certification

Hazardous Materials (HAZMAT) First Responder operations experience

Associates degree in Fire Science

Confined space rescue training

Additional Information:

This is a union represented position governed by the IAFF Collective Bargaining agreement

This position is located in a location that does not offer relocation.  Candidates must live in the immediate area or relocate at their own expense
