Perform antenna design and characterization using modeling and simulation tools as well as laboratory measurements. Develops and validates electromagnetic requirements for electrical\electronic systems, mechanical systems, interconnects and structures. Develops architectures to integrate systems and components into higher level systems and platforms. Performs trade studies, modeling, simulation and other forms of analysis to predict component, interconnects and system performance and to optimize design around established requirements. Defines and conducts tests to validate performance of designs to requirements. Writes appropriate sections of proposals to support development of new business. Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience): Ability to obtain U.S. Government security clearance post start requires the applicant be a US Citizen. Master's or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry Phased array antennas or active electronically scanned arrays design experience Ability to lead and manage development projects Demonstrated ability to capture CRAD and other externally funded research Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience): RF passive and active circuit design including transmission line, distribution network, printed circuit board and MMIC Electronic packaging including circuit layout in AutoCAD or Mentor Graphics Experience with full wave electromagnetic simulation software such as HFSS, FEKO, CST Studio or other similar applications Experience with circuit analysis tools such as ADS, Microwave Office, OrCAD, or other similar tools System analysis and simulation with Excel, Matlab, Simulink Software development scripting languages such as Matlab or Python or Symbolic languages such as MathCAD or Labview or higher level languages such as C/C++ DSP development using Xilinx or Intel FPGAs RF and microwave measurement and testing techniques with vector network analyzer and precision probe station, and the ability to use a wide variety of laboratory test equipment R&D project planning and reporting, team building and mentoring. Typical Education/Experience: Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard. Relocation: Relocation assistance is not a negotiable benefit for this position.
